About

Pastor Chris is a native of Mobile, Alabama.  Early in life he made a personal profession of faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord.  Raised in a Christian home and family, he has pursued an intimate faith walk with God for virtually all of his life.

After high school, he attended Oral Roberts University, attaining his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978.  During his college years he served as a Resident Advisor on campus and as a Youth Minister at Southern Hills Baptist Church (Summer 1975).  He later became the Youth Minister at Gracemont Baptist Church (1976—1978).

During this period he met his wife Lori (Logan).  They were married in 1977.  Together they have raised three children (Amy, Megan—Mrs. Zach Modglin, and David).  They now have three grandsons.

After graduation from ORU, they moved to New Orleans in order to attend New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, graduating in May 1981 with a Master of Divinity degree.  During the years in New Orleans he served as Associate Pastor of Youth and Single Adults at Westbank Revival Center in Gretna, Louisiana.  Chris was licensed to the ministry by Southern Hills Baptist Church and ordained by Westbank Revival Center.  His journey in Christ—as well as his style of spiritual leadership—is a blend of the evangelical and charismatic traditions.

Prior to coming to Morrison, Chris served three other churches in pastoral ministry.  He was the Associate Pastor of Christian Life Fellowship and Headmaster of Christian Life Academy a fully accredited K-12 school in Baton Rouge, Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Hominy, Oklahoma, and Senior Pastor of Covenant Life Church in Baton Rouge,
Louisiana.

Through the years he has served on several ministry and community boards and in leadership capacities.
